Assignment #9

Reflective and Faceless


Well it's safe to say these pictures are long over due. My creative juices have not been flowing lately (no thanks to my depression😒). However, tonight I whipped my camera out again and began sniping pictures. 

First up are the two faceless pictures I took using the reflective surface of the window in the living room and one using the mirror from one of my make up palettes. 




 These last three pictures are the reflective portrait pictures. I didn't want to jut stand in front of the bathroom mirror and take pictures because I thought that was way too boring for my tastes. Instead I bothered my mum for her little round mirror for the pictures. The hardest part about taking these pictures was angling the camera in such a way where it would not be visible in the pictures I took. I guess it was harder for me to do because my hands shake alot. 



All in all I had fun taking these pictures. My favorite is probably the first picture with a tissue over my face 😂😂

Motion~   These first set of pictures were taken in a Drama class while they were preparing to rehearse for their end of semester play.   I managed to snag a shot of Mrs. Baker dashing across stage lol.  Here one of the students is attempting to balance an umbrella on her hand.  This one was taken mid scene as a student was chasing Mrs. Baker's character. I forgot the names of the characters unfortunately.  I caught my sister mid dance  on stage as she was warming up with her friends.  Here Mrs. Baker was  making some fast movements and I managed to snag them and this is the end result. Pretty cool right?  The blurring is not too strong in this photo but is still there. (watch the hands). They were dancing.  More chase scenes.  And what would be a movement shoot without a shot of the train.

Brenton Harold Turner: War Photographer In the time of The Great War a Canadian man named Brenton Harold “Jack” Turner went to war. He was stationed mainly in France and Western Europe. In those times soldiers were not permitted to carry cameras onto the battlefield. However, brave Prince Edward Islander, Jack Turner, concealed his camera and took it into war with him. Burn's Brothers Camp Brighton, Charlottetown, 1915 Jack Turner was born September 24, 1889 in O’Leary, Prince Edward Island, Canada. On September 2, 1915, Turner joined the army and was shipped off to Europe to help defend from the Triple Alliance- the enemy. He had never fought in a war before this one. It's Me! This is me, Allyssa. I'm 18 years old and in my last year of highschool. This picture was taken by one of my friends at that start of the school year.  I enjoy playing games with my friends in my free time (which I don't get much of). Here is us starting a game of UNO.  Taking pictures of scenery is one of my favorite things to do. On this day my mum, my two sisters and I went out to Sturgeon Point road to have dinner with some friends.   I tried Digital Art recently and this is one of my latest drawings. I named her Daisy.  Sometimes I miss my friends from back in Jamaica. I have pictures to remember them by.  My sisters and I have become very close within the last few years.
